A Message from SHUKR's Founders
As this chapter in SHUKR’s history comes to a close, the founders of SHUKR — Anas and Jaafar — would like to offer our sincere thanks to you, our loyal customers, for accompanying us on this journey for over 25 years.
As a convert to Islam, Anas relished the opportunity to design and produce a modern style of modest clothing that would meet the needs of Muslims living in North America, Europe, and around the world. As an entrepreneur, Jaafar valued the opportunity to build a company grounded in Islamic values. Both Anas and Jaafar have tried to live up to the Islamic example of excellence (ihsan) in everything they have done for SHUKR.
We are extremely grateful to you all, our esteemed SHUKR customers, for making this journey so fulfilling. It is only because of your support and loyalty that we have been able to keep going as the most established brand in the Islamic/modest fashion space. You have made it possible to do tremendous good along the way – from supporting countless Muslim families, to funding a major Qur’an translation project, to spreading the elegant example of modest clothing. We thank you for the opportunity to serve you.
Because we have put our heart and soul into SHUKR, finding the right people to continue the SHUKR brand has been an utmost priority. Thankfully, in the owners of Niswa Fashion, we feel that we have found the perfect match. They themselves were SHUKR customers, purchasing their very first abayas and thobes from ShukrClothing.com. SHUKR held a special place in their hearts, and now they feel it has come full circle: they are entrusted with something that has been part of their lives for so long. As the new owners of the SHUKR brand, we are confident that Niswa is the right company to carry the SHUKR brand forward and will faithfully uphold the values it represents.
The SHUKR story continues — and we look forward to seeing it grow in this new chapter.
With heartfelt thanks and final salams,
Anas and Jaafar
