Men's size guide

SHUKR has 2 sizing's charts to help you choose the correct size: 1) a general Body Size Chart and 2) a Garment Measurements Chart for each specific clothing item. Please refer to both charts to guarantee choosing your correct size. Use the body size chart to take the measurements of your own body and the garment measurements chart to see the measurements of the actual clothing itself, which you can then compare to any item of clothing you already own to see if it is similar or not.

HOW TO TAKE YOUR BODY MEASUREMENTS

HEIGHT: For best results, stand barefoot next to a doorframe, and then measure from the top of the head to the bottom of your feet. Even better, get a friend or family member to do it for you.

CHEST: Place the tape under the arms and measure around the fullest part of the chest and over the shoulder blades at the back.

WAIST: Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape slightly loose.

HEAD (FOR HATS): Measure the circumference of your head across the forehead and to the point of the back of your head where you like the hat to sit at.

HOW TO TAKE GARMENT MEASUREMENTS OF PANTS

Lay out a similar garment you own flat on the floor or on a table. Using a soft measuring tape, take the following measurements

LENGTH (Outside seam): Measure the side of one of the legs, from the top of the waistband until the end of the hem at the bottom of the garment.

Length (Inseam): Measure from the crotch of the pants until the end of the hem at the bottom of one of the legs.

WAIST: Measure the top of the waistband, from one side to another, following the curve of the waistband.

How to take garment measurements

Length Customization

We offer FREE customization to the lengths of our products! Select the correct size according to the width measurements of our body size chart and garment measurements chart. Then check to see if the length measurement of the garment is appropriate for you. If not, we can shorten or lengthen the measurement to suit to your requirements. Any extension up to 10cm in length is free of charge. Anything more than this will incur a fee, depending on the style. (We’re sorry, but we do not offer adjustments to the width measurements of our products)

Please note that different styles may vary in measurements, so make sure to check the garment measurements chart for each item.

Please note that customized items take an extra 3 days to process on top of the delivery times mentioned on our website, and have a no-return policy. We will produce the lengths you request, within a toleration level of up to 1cm (less than half an inch).

 



If you would like a customized alteration then please do the following:

 

1- Click on the "Customise Length" tab which you will find between the size and color swatches on the product page.

Fabric Weight: SHUKR has classified the different fabrics it uses into 4 different degrees of weight in order to help the customer make an informed purchasing choice:

1- Light weight - fabrics weighing between 75-150 grams per square metre (gsm). These fabrics are great for warmer weather and for layering all year round.

2- Medium weight - fabrics weighing between 150-225 grams per square metre (gsm). These are fabrics which work well all year round, but might be a bit too warm for very hot summer climates.

3- Heavy weight - fabrics weighing between 225-300 grams per square metre (gsm). These fabrics are best worn in Spring, Autumn and Winter.

4- Extra Heavy Weight – fabrics weighing over 300 grams per square metre (gsm). These are fabrics meant to be used for the Winter season.

Fabric Type: Some customers are interested in knowing what the fabric construction is. There are 2 basic types of fabrics, categorized according to the type of machine that makes it: woven and knitted. Woven fabrics come in 3 main sub-categories: plain weave, twill weave and satin weave. Knitted fabrics, like the popular jersey, are normally stretchy fabrics that are good for t-shirts and tops, sportswear and comfortable dresses. Apart from jersey, other common knitted fabrics are French terry, ponte de roma and rib.

Fabric Code: SHUKR, like all companies, often uses the same fabrics for many designs. Repeat customers may like a fabric of a particular garment they purchased from SHUKR in the past and want to know what other products are available in this same fabric.
